Shooting Stars Re-Sign Danilo Djuricic

April 29, 2024

The Scarborough Shooting Stars announced on Monday afternoon that the team has re-signed Danilo Djuricic for the 2024 season. The Brampton native averaged 4.1 points per game, 3.4 rebounds per game, and 1.3 assists per game in 8 games with the team last season.

The Toronto Star produced a feature on Djuricic that was released in 2016, showcasing his long commute to Toronto from Brampton while he was playing in high school. He cited Anthony Bennett as an inspiration and was an esteemed prospect after earning a silver medal at the U18 FIBA Americas in 2015.

He played professionally with Brno of the Czech Republic from 2021 to 2023, and played with Harvard for three seasons from 2017 to 2020. He didn’t compete in his senior season due to the season cancellation by the Ivy League from the pandemic.

He played with St. Michael’s College and put his name on the map, as he was ranked eighth in the Canadian National Player Rankings for the Class of 2017, per North Pole Hoops.

Scarborough finished the 2023 regular season with an 11-9 record, but elevated their games into the playoffs by winning the championships. The 6-foot-8 forward will look to play an expanded role as the team aims to repeat this season.
