Assiniboia Downs (ASD) has another seven-race card scheduled for Tuesday (June 18) evening and it kicks off at 7:35 p.m. CDT. The Jackpot Pick 5 wager starts in the third race and runs through to the end of the card while the $1 Pick 4 with a $50,000 guaranteed pool starts in the fourth race. The final two races will both feature a $1 Classic Hi-5 wager as well. ASD introduced Rolling Doubles this week to the wager menu. The lone mile-long race kicks off the night in race one while the rest range from five and a half to seven and a half furlongs.

Keep this in mind when looking over the program this week as a couple of stables have been affected. The two notable ones are the Tom Gardipy, Jr. and Wendy Anderson barns.
Longshot To Watch
At 5/1 morning line odds, Moon Connection is one to keep an eye on in the fifth race. The four-year-old colt already has two wins this year in six starts and he’s also finished second place twice. He only has made one start at ASD and it was a sixth-place finish but since then he had a second place in the Chippewa Downs Open TB Stakes in North Dakota. He has the second-highest earnings of any horse in this field and has shown he likes the six-furlong distance. Prayven Badrie gets the mount as he continues to lead in jockey wins this summer.
Best Bet
I like the chances of Exchequer in the seventh race and so much so that I am willing to single the eight-year-old gelding in my Pick 5 wager. He finished second place in his 2024 debut but is coming off a great 2023. He won three of his nine starts and finished in the top three six times. The grey Exchange Rate- sired racer has won 13 times in his career and has earned over $220,000 in prize money. Exchequer has won at this distance of race and even longer so he shouldn’t have any issues. Antonia Whitehall will climb aboard as he continues to have a hot summer as well.
